About an hour later, after I dried my hair, got changed into my uniform and came to the waiting room to check on the list of appointments for the day, I saw a note on my desk.

“Hope you have no regrets about working with Doctor Bright. See you in my office at noon.

Doctor Morrison.”

So he was back to the hospital. God, how was I supposed to face him after what happened and play it cool and don’t give up my feelings? Thought I could hardly decipher any of them. For the biggest part, I was being haunted by inexplicable fear. I didn’t know what I was afraid of, maybe of Doctor Bright being disappointed in me, thinking low of me. But then, I was not the only sinner in this ‘heaven’. We crossed the line together. Which means, we both should be responsible for what happened, right? Or maybe I was simply afraid he would never want to see me again; maybe he would ask Doctor Morrison to send me to another hospital or worse – make sure no surgeon wants to have me as a PA, ever again.

With those thoughts in my head, I sat at my desk, opened the schedule file and started to wait for the Doctor to come and start his workday. Which was going to be a trial for both of us.

I had no idea how to get to the end of the day, keep my job and never once let my eyes slip to the part of Doctor Bright’s body that I seemed to be unable to stop thinking about…
